Recycling your old equipment
Electrical and electronic equipment shouldn’t go in household rubbish: it contains materials that can be recovered, and some that harm the environment if they’re not disposed of properly. Products marked with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol must be recycled separately.
Free take-back
Under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013, when you buy a new electrical item from us we’ll take back your old item of the same type, free of charge, so it can be recycled. For example, if you buy a new single-board computer, we’ll take back your old one.
- Buy the new item from us.
- Within 28 days of the purchase, contact us with your order number and tell us what you’d like to return.
- Send the old item to Office 17, 30B Wilds Rents, London, SE1 4QG, United Kingdom. The postage is at your cost; we recycle the item for free through our compliance scheme.
You can also take old equipment to your local council recycling centre free of charge. Find your nearest at recyclenow.com.
Batteries
We also take back used portable batteries of the type we sell, free of charge, under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009. Send them with any WEEE return, or drop them at any battery collection point.
Reducing waste
- We pack orders in recyclable cardboard and paper wherever the parts allow it; anti-static bags are used only where they protect the part.
- Products are shipped in the manufacturer’s packaging without extra retail boxes.
- Our invoices and order documents are electronic.
